The Original Ceylon Tea Company – OCTC- was established in the US quarter century ago by an enterprising American Tea lover and group of Ceylon (Now Sri Lanka) tea professionals - tea planters, tea tasters, tea blenders and tea administrators with a combined tea experience of over 140 years ! The company is still run by tea professionals based in the US and in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The Tea tasters and expert blenders work out of Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, a country commonly known as the “Home of Good Tea." All our teas are Ceylon origin which enables us to guarantee quality unlike most other tea establishment. The ‘Spotted Symbol “ shown below is the official State Authority seal of ‘Quality Guarantee.' All our Original Ceylon Teas carry this symbol.
With a ‘State of the art FDA approved packing facility” every tea we make is blended to suit the discerning taste of the US tea (Camellia Sinensis) consumer. We conform to ISO 22000 Food Safety management system certification to keep food safe. All OCTC teas are conventional teas.
An excellent range of Organic and Fairtrade teas are on offer in collaboration with the premier Sri Lanka manufacturer and supplier of Organic and Fairtrade teas, herbals and fruity teas , The English Tea Shop – ETS.
The ETS range comes in Double Chamber tea bags, Pyramid Tea Bags, Single Chamber Tea Bags, Loose Tea in Metal Canisters, Paper Canisters, Gift Packages and in a variety of other presentations. The ETS Seasonal Teas such as the “Christmas Tea”and Gift teas are sold at exclusive shops such as Harrods of London, Planet Organic, Historic Royal Palaces to name a few.
